I had a passion for photography from a young age; I’m really not sure where it came from. In fact, I bet if I searched my Dad’s loft, my first cartridge film camera would still be there! You can tell it’s a passion by the fact that I still have all of those photographs.

I progressed to a secondhand 35mm camera in my teens, mainly taking snaps on holidays and outings. Kids these days would want a new one, but I was happy as Larry with my old new toy.

My Uncle who I was vey close to, was a keen photographer. He helped me buy my first digital camera on one visit to see him, a Sony Cybershot. I bought several newer models over the coming years. Uncle landed in the doghouse on a trip we made to Italy for treating himself to a new Nikon D40. He got around it by telling my Aunt that I needed a better camera and handed me his Pentax!

Sadly, my Uncle passed away suddenly and unexpectedly a short time after our trip. My Aunt knew he would have wanted me to have the camera, so along came the Nikon to me.

After spending some time with a photographer friend recently, I have promised myself that I am going to make more time for photography. So, it’s with pure passion and enjoyment that I photograph, with my Uncle always in mind. I hope you enjoy looking at them.
