I intended to do a degree course in fashion design and I was even fortunate enough to get some experience working alongside two of the top fashion designers in London; Anya Hindmarch and Amanda Wakley. Both experiences were equally rewarding as they gave me an insight to the real world of fashion. It also made me realise that fashion design was not really what I wanted to specialise in.

I am working on the title of ‘The Seven Deadly Sins’ for A2 art. I love the freedom in which it has given me, as there is just so much to look at. I have visited numerous galleries including the Museum of Modern Art to see the works of Jenny Saville; she has inspired me greatly to start working on a larger scale. I am concentrating on my oil painting skills this year; there are so many ways in which it can be used. I am gradually developing my own style while at the same time exploring each deadly sin.

I was the school’s art prefect, which involved advertising current art exhibitions and competitions. I loved the position and felt more involved and was able to see some of the work being created by younger members of the school.

I was fortunate enough to take part in an intensive experimental life drawing course. It was a great experience and I learnt how to use different media. We did not use the conventional paintbrush or pencil; instead, we played around with various utensils such as, sticks and ink and many other natural resources. Also, I learned the basics of how to construct the human form from a real life body in front of me, benefitting my ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ A-level project where I have been able to apply my new skills.
