I began taking pictures of plants in 1991 using Smena 8M, and have changed several cameras since then — which naturally led to the photo quality change.

 

My plant-related hobby is rooted in my pioneer childhood. At those times it was a kind of tradition to junk paper for recycling, and sometimes genuine pearls could be found in those heaps.

 

Thus one day I came across a true phenomenon of the Soviet press — “Aмерика Illustrated” magazine with bright photos of a Yellowstone National Park in the USA and a lot of flora representatives.

 

Though it was twenty years ago, those pictures carved in my memory became an example for me, and most likely it is this magazine that I owe my “macroflower” hobby to.
