I used to consider myself a decent amateur photographer, back in the darkroom ages. Even taught some photography classes. Lost interest, and now I have some nice '60s-'70s film equipment collecting dust.

A few years back I bought a simple Kodak digital cam so I could get back into the photo game at a basic 21st-century level. Joining Flickr in December 2006 has motivated me to get some better gear ... getting older and shakier has motivated me to invest in a couple of image-stabilized lenses.

My working arsenal:

Kodak DC215 (my old 1 MegaPixel snapshot cam)

Nikon D50 body (6 MegaPixels)

Nikon D90 body (12 MegaPixels)

28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G AF Nikkor

70-300mm f/4-5.6G AF Nikkor

18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 ED AF-S VR Nikkor (image stabilized!)

80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED AF VR Nikkor (image stabilized!)

Mrs Oldog also lets me use her Canon Powershot S3 IS, but not her sweet little Powershot A1000IS

I occasionally post some old-time photos from albums I inherited, if you like that sort of thing.

I really enjoy seeing my Contacts' postings, and those of my fellow members at the Senior Moments group which I founded. I try to surf other Flickr groups as much as time permits. I have pretty much stopped joining huge groups and focus my attention on smaller pools.

I find Flickr terribly addictive ... diet-management and Flickr-management are 2 disciplinary strategies that I need to work on :-)

Age 65, going on 16.
