My first camera was a 5 year old, Olympus OM10, an SLR from the days when you sent off your 24 exposure roll to BonusPrint and got a sticker on the blurry shots telling you it was either out of focus or your hand wasn't steady enough. I've owned a few digital cameras since including Canon Rebel dSLR's, Canon and Panasonic pocket cams, Sony NEX-5N, NEX-7 and now A7II 'mirrorless'. I've settled on the Sony mirrorless format because despite all of its high techness and quirky controls, it actually makes manual photography easier than any dSLR does. The form factor is much more like that of an old SLR film camera, and the fuss-free use of 20-50 year old manual focus lenses or state of the art autofocus ones leaves options wide open. And the A7II's full frame sensor makes those old lenses 'native', while its internal sensor stabilisation makes them as forgiving to use as modern ones.
