At the moment, my husband and I are living in Hawaii due to his accepting a contract here. This opportunity could not have come at a better time for me, in that I've been feeling the pangs of empty nest syndrome and living on this island has inspired me in a multitude of ways. Prior to this move, the majority of my creative adventures were based on my family, particulairly my three children as they were my priority for over 20 years. It has been wonderful to be able to rediscover photography, which I had studied in my youth but seldom used, other than to record our family's lives together.

I stumbled onto Flickr by my participation in a Library Thing photo contest (just a fun little moment of madness, on my part!) which required that the photo's be submitted through this site.

I found myself feeling very lucky to be able to see so many inspirational photo's. I can see that I have a lot to remember and indeed learn but grateful for the opportunity of viewing other peoples wonderful photographs and learning from thier example.

I'm also currently learning the ins and outs of editing. I have over a dozen family oriented VHS tapes and cassettes that I am trying to put into an entertaining and watchable form. My husband surprised me on our anniversary by giving me a digital movie camera, so I am also making little clips of our times in Hawaii.
