A (very) amateur photographer living in Buckinghamshire, I've been taking photographs since I was about 10 (in 1977, if you want to work out how old I am!). My first 35mm camera was a Cosina- a cheap Chinese camera, but it did the job. When that failed I managed to obtain a Pentax ME Super, until I was tempted into medium format with a Lubitel and then a Mamiya 645. I currently use Nikon, but is that important? People get very snobby about equipment, but it's the image that's important!

In my early days my interests were mainly transport: railways and London Transport in particular, but now it is mainly anything powered by steam, vintage transport, and landscapes: being in the outdoors and featuring water is almost guaranteed to attract me and the camera!

In real life I am a railway engineer and a volunteer steam footplate crew on a certain heritage railway in Leicestershire.
