One of three campuses that make up the University of Illinois College of Medicine, the Chicago campus is located in the heart of the world’s largest medical district, just one mile west of the city’s business center. Students have access to an extraordinary science education as well as extensive clinical experience at one of the district’s eight teaching hospitals.

Clinical training begins in the first year by introducing students to medical interviewing, cultural competency, ethics and professionalism in the physician/patient relationship and lays the foundation for meeting the established competencies required for medical school graduation. Chicago campus programs include: residencies, graduate medical education programs, programs for medical students, combined degree programs, and basic sciences programs, as well as the GPPA, an initiative that guarantees admission to one of several professional degree programs, including medicine, to a limited number of UIC freshmen.
