"Describe Yourself..." it says.

Hmmm, this could take some time...

take a look at the pix while I think about it ;-)

American Sioux Indian story

"The Creator gathered all of creation and said,

"I want to hide something from the humans until they are ready for it.

It is the realisation that they create their own reality".

The Eagle said, "Give it to me, i will take it to the moon".

The Creator said, "No, one day they will go there and find it".

The Salmon said, "I will bury it at the bottom of the ocean".

The Creator said, " No they will go there too".

The Buffalo said, "I will bury it on the great plains".

The Creator said, " No, they will cut the skin of the Earth and find it even there".

Grandmother Mole, who lives in the breast of Mother Earth, and who has no physical eyes but sees with spiritual eyes, said, "Put it inside of them".

And the Creator said, "It is done!"

"...After the flood

All the colours came out..."

-- Bono (U2) - lyrics: "Beautiful Day".

"Great photography is simple.

It is merely to discover, collect, arrange, create, anticipate or provoke

exquisite subject matter;

and then to choose, invent, or patiently wait for

that properly illuminating and perfectly enhancing light,

in order to utilize the proper electronic and mechanical equipment,

and the optical and chemical principles and processes,

which will isolate, immobilize, and capture the combination forever

in a visually meaningful and aesthetically interesting way.

It takes only a camera and film.

It is almost as simple as writing, which needs only pen and paper;

as sculpting, which requires only chisel and mallet;

or as orchestra conducting, which demands only a thin stick and an evening coat."

-- anonymous.

"Art will remain the most astonishing activity of mankind born out of struggle between wisdom and madness, between dream and reality in our mind…."

-- Magdalena Abakanowicz (Polish sculptor).

"There are two kinds of truth; the truth that lights the way and the truth that warms the heart. The first of these is science, and the second is art. Without art science would be as useless as a pair of high forceps in the hands of a plumber. Without science art would become a crude mess of folklore and emotional quackery."

-- Raymond Chandler (1888-1959) U.S. writer of detective fiction.

"We don`t make a photograph just with a camera; we bring to the act of photography all the books we have read, the movies we have seen, the music we have heard, the people we have loved."

-- Ansel Adams (American photographer/environmentalist).

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."

-- Aaron Siskind (abstract expressionist photographer).

"Disappointments are to the soul what the thunder-storm is to the air."

-- Friedrich von Schiller (German Poet, Dramatist, Philosopher and Historian. 1759-1805).

"Live this day as if it will be your last. Remember that you will only find ''tomorrow'' on the calendars of fools. Forget yesterday's defeats and ignore the problems of tomorrow. This is it. Doomsday. All you have. Make it the best day of your year. The saddest words you can ever utter are, ''If I had my life to live over again. ''Take the baton, now. Run with it! This is your day! Beginning today, treat everyone you meet, friend or foe, loved one or stranger, as if they were going to be dead at midnight. Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care and kindness and understanding and love that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again."

-- Og Mandino

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."

-- Plato.

"When you interact with another, an illusion is part of this dynamic. This illusion allows each soul to perceive what it needs to understand in order to heal."

-- Gary Zukav.

"The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of sixty minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is."

-- C. S. Lewis (author).

"Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time."

-- Anonymous.

"Am I me, dreaming I am a beautiful butterfly, or a beautiful butterfly dreaming I am me?"

-- Chuang Tsu, "Inner Chapters".

"Photography is a lot like life...

you never know what you get till you download it."

-- Anonymous (found on the beautiful image green nile by flickr's dagutzyone).

"The only real voyage of discovery

consists not in seeking new landscapes

but in having new eyes."

-- Marcel Proust.

"Everything that we see is a shadow cast by that which we do not see.".

-- Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929 - 1968)

"Light, my light, the world-filling light,

the eye-kissing light,

heart-sweetening light!

Ah, the light dances, my darling, at the center of my life;

the light strikes, my darling, the chords of my love;

the sky opens, the wind runs , laughter passes over the earth.".

-- Rabindranath Tagore (Nobel Laureate Indian Poet 1861-1941 )

I am a Daffodil:

"You have a sunny disposition and are normally one of the first to show up for the party.

You don't need too much attention from the host once you get there as you are more than capable of making yourself seen and heard."
