Alex Chitnev is a Fine Art Photographer based in Richmond, British Columbia. Alex was born and raised in Russia and has relocated to Beautiful British Columbia with his family over twenty years ago. Growing up in Russia, Alex was influenced by Russia's deep history and long fine art tradition. Alex's first professional encounter with fine art took place in the late 70's, when as a youth he worked on the restoration of Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius, just outside Moscow.

Alex first developed an interest in photography when he became a father. He enjoyed taking portraits of his family using Zenith-3M camera and conducting photographic processing at home. Upon arrival to Canada Alex was able to apply his artistic side by pursuing a career in Graphic Design. At the same time, Alex continued to pursue photography as a hobby. A career in graphic design has sparked an interest in continuing his education in Fine Art Photography, and Alex pursued a Diploma in Photography from Langara College.

Alex's artistic works are very diverse. His images include portraits, nature scenery, architecture, black and white photography, night photography and more. With his photography, Alex strives to evoke genuine emotions and to move the viewer.
