I often ask myself why I take photographs. I think there are a few reasons. Perhaps the main one is this: I believe that when we go somewhere familiar we cannot but help impose our memory onto what we are seeing in the present. This, of course, is why we do not get lost! Even when we go somewhere unfamiliar we tend to latch on to components with which we are familiar. As such, I don't believe we see things very well, and I count myself included in this. What photography does is make me look, or even see. I hope to provide some photos that have not only made me look at things in a different way but which will also have that effect on the viewer. I also take some traditional photos - if something is beautiful I will want to capture that. There will also be bits of architecture, cultural heritage etc. Another particular interest is documenting change, so expect some building sites, dilapidated buildings etc.
