Since I first started collecting hockey cards on the back of Kraft Dinner boxes, sports have been a huge part of my life.
For the past four years, I've been fortunate enough to make a career out of it, starting as the Sports Editor at Mount Allison University's independent student newspaper (The Argosy) in the summer of 2011, I have gradually become more immersed in the field of sports media.
In the summer of 2013, I packed up my mom's 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and drove across most of the country in a week to take on the Multimedia Sports Journalist role with the Fort McMurray Today.
I work mainly for the Today, the only daily newspaper in Fort McMurray, covering several large-scale events including the Western Canada Cup, CFL preseason and regular season game as well as the 2015 Western Canada Summer Games, providing both written and visual content. My work has appeared across Sun Media and Postmedia's national newswire on multiple platforms at some of the largest daily newspapers in this country.
I also enjoy the occasional evening taking photos at drop in ping-pong and Sunday afternoon cricket, constantly working to get the perfect photo for each of my stories.
Presently, I also work as a freelancer for Fort McMurray Tourism and the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
In the past, I've worked with Canadian University Press, Rugby Canada and the International Paralympic Committee, covering the 2015 IPC Nordic Skiiing World Championships as well as Rugby World Cup qualifiers for Canada as well as national and world championships.
