I'm an amateur photographer from Belfast/Béal Feirste. Photography came into my world when I had my children - the prices charged to get professional photographs drove me to buy my own gear - and I've never been able to create those fabulous images that the professionals created for me never mind the emotions that their photographs elicited from me. Fabulous!!

I'm hugely proud to have achieved my Licentiateship with the Irish Photographic Association (IPF) and also to have been recognised for my services to photography by the Northern Ireland Photographic Association (NIPA). I'm a life member of the IPF.

Having travelled around over the years, my favourite part of the world is Ireland, my home, and particularly Co Kerry - Ciarraí abú! Just a pity rain didn't stop play so often :). I shoot anything but I'm happiest shooting cityscapes and nightscapes, abstract (if it's a random shot, I'll see it), flowers, churches (love the architecture and the peace within and I've a thing for lighting candles for folk!), and aviation although I haven't cracked the plane scene as there's not much activity really at the two Belfast airports.

I use my iPhone a lot - an awful lot lol! I also have Fuji and Nikon set ups.

I don't follow people anymore as no matter what the social media site, people follow you for a few days and then disappear - particularly if you've followed them back! All a bit silly and I'm purely enjoying photography and not here for the likes or follows. Nor am I into club photography competitions for similar reasons but I do love the camaraderie and the craic of camera clubs. and I've been a member of two in Belfast - including the top club in the UK and Ireland at one stage - as well as secretary to one for a number of years. Some great friends have been made through the clubs. However, this site is really for me and for my kids down the years. I'm hoping they might appreciate that I did have a little bit of artistic flair even if I'm rubbish at drawing! Remember, that like a photograph, you're the energy, the light, and the magic in someone's world - and they are mine xx
