I love the smell of freshly cut grass

and orange blossoms.

 

I've lived in Florida for a long time

but am not a native.

You could say I'm a Southern girl

but I don't think I am.

 

When I was three I wanted to be a dog;

when I was 12 I wanted to be a teacher;

I went to college to be a marketing executive;

and now I'm a photographer and small business owner.

 

Canon, not Nikon.

Coke, not Pepsi.

 

I've lived in more than 17 houses

and considered all of them home.

 

I think that animals and kids

have a fantastic ability to see

love in everything.

I think that's incredibly cool.

 

The year I turned 40 I found my love.

I was viewing Karen's stream long before I ever commented on one of her photos. I remember thinking how I wanted to be as good a photographer as her someday. So, equally-memorable for me was the first time I ever received a comment from her in my stream. I felt like a kid who mostly sat the bench in little league - but suddenly got a pat on the head from the coach for hitting a single. I'm still trying to hit a double, where my own photography is concerned. And Karen inspires me to keep swinging the bat. Thanks Karen.
