I'm using this flickr account to upload photos taken from the collection of my paternal grandfather, Willis Peter "Bildy" Bilderback. Most of the photos were taken between 1941-1971. My grandfather was the head lacrosse coach for the U.S. Naval Academy from 1959 to 1972. Many of the photos are of Navy sporting events.

Photography was a long time interest of my grandfather, and he was taking color photos as early as 1941. During the 60s and 70s he took many photographs using a Honeywell Pentax 35 mm camera, mostly using Kodak Kodachrome film.

He left journals with information on some of the photos, and I will upload his comments at some point in the future. Until then, I will provide as much information on the photos as I am able.

My grandfather loved to share photos, often having friends and family over for slide shows and home movies. It is in that spirit of sharing that I am making these photographs available today.
