I'm an arts/crafts junkie. Primarily watercolor, jewelry and knitting. Don't tell, but I also crochet.
I have two sons, and began to knit when the elder was an infant. My second project was a Christmas stocking for his first (actually SECOND as he was born on Christmas Eve) Christmas. It had an intarsia Santa preparing to drop down a chimney. Don't ask about the snarls!! Because of my inexperience, I was up unsnarling and finishing it until 2 am on Christmas morning.
That was 41 years ago, and I haven't stopped knitting since.
Crowning achievement of life: knitting while reading. Of course, ALL my projects have errors -- but, so what?
I was thrilled when Lime and Violet began their sock marathon as I have WAY too much sock yarn in the stash. I am sure others knitters understand. There's just so much GORGEOUS yarn out there. Very unlike the supply available when I began.
Greatest regret: didn't know about Elizabeth Zimmerman back in those days.
