Photography is a creative distraction from the mundane.

The eye being far more important than the gear, from initial composition to post-processing.

Enjoyed using various brands and systems; micro four-thirds, Nikon full-frame and APS-C, Sony full-frame E mount and Ricoh GR. Keen to keep abreast of gear developments to avoid falling prey to marketeers masquerading as gear reviewers or forum shills and ending up as an indiscriminate gear collector as a consequence.

At the end of the day given the gear options available today, the biggest limiting factor to a good photograph is largely ourselves. The latest and greatest gear will not automatically turn us into better photographers.

Way better to develop our own abilities (from pre-shot discipline to post-processing) than to chase after gear especially since the latter is subjected to accelerating price depreciation as release cycles shorten!

Joined Flickr in 2012 but started to post only in 2017.
