My transformation from IT drone to Artist and Teacher is almost complete. After completing my PGCE I have successfully obtained employment at Gateshead College.

On the artistic side my work is concerned with memory and miss-interpretation. As such I am fascinated by the relationship between representational and abstract art. I veer between the two and see little difference in the skill and thought process involved in either types of work. I see myself as a figurative artist although others think of me as a painter of abstract works. My drawings emphasise the physical and gestural nature of my work where I am more concerned with the quality of the marks I make rather than a need to represent in two dimensions accurately a three dimensional object or scene.
