I have always loved animals and nature so I'm really enjoying getting out and about taking photographs of the local wildlife. I also love taking pictures of my nephews in natural light. I am an amateur/hobbyist photographer, but would like to learn more about photography and how to get the best from my camera.

My passion for photography began as a child. Inspired by my uncle, who was a keen photographer, I seem always to have had a camera in my hand. I took snapshots of family, friends and my pets. Nothing much has changed there!

Some years ago I bought my first SLR camera and then moved to a compact digital camera when the digital age came about. More recently I bought the Canon 1000d kit, but quickly upgraded to the Canon 7D and Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM. I have recently added the Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM and Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II to my collection.
