I'm a fairly observant person who tends to take a lot of photos. I'm interested in so much stuff that I have a hard time staying focused. I really like old cars. I've traveled all of Route 66 twice and much of it many more times. I like old signs, back roads, motels, tools, recycling, energy conservation, Ebay, Hot Wheels cars, Enjoying Coca-cola, finding treasure, fishin', going to auctions and much more...

I have put together and exciting new group for lovers of signs that do more that just sit there or light up. The "Signs in MOTION" group has already converted a few people who don't feel video should be on Flickr. Pop some corn and have a visit...
I have created a new Flickr group that I feel was desperately needed. Please visit the Wigwam Village Motel Group here...
For you true Route 66 fans, you will also appreciate the Bob Waldmire Appreciation Group. It is dedicated to honoring this great guy. Check it out here...
Ford sold trucks in Canada at Mercury dealerships. They were the same as Fords only with Mercury Badges and tailgates etc. Here's a group for those trucks!...

If you've come here because you like cars or if you are fascinated by cars, road trips or great stories of perseverance. I HIGHLY recommend you look into the book or DVD (do yourself a favor and get both) called "Horatio's drive" about the man who was the first to cross the USA in a car and did so because of a $50 bet. The year was 1903. The car was a 1903 Winton and the bet allowed 90 days to go from San Fransisco to New York. If you are patient you can get them cheap on ebay and I've created a link you should bookmark (No, I have no way to make money off of this free advice!)... search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m3...

I tend to lean toward photography that is somehow related to vintage things and probably what brought me to John's photostream. But, John's photostream is so much more than that. John has an amazing eye and it is shows in the photographic images he posts to Flickr. Though John has a lot of content that does not relate to "vintage", I'm still amazed daily in what he manages to capture and it's quality. There are only a handful of people on Flickr that truly inspire me to work harder at my own photographic skill and John is surly at the top of that list. Keep up the good work John.

I don’t know why I waited so long to write this. John has always been an inspiration to my own photographic journey. He has such a fresh and creative eye; I’m always trying to keep up. Well traveled, skilled and always interesting, that’s why I keep returning. Look around his stream, you can see his own creative evolution as he improves his technique and explores some pretty creative takes. Also his oeuvre continues to encompass more and more subjects all expertly done. I have no idea how he creates so much so well so consistently. Take stroll through and see if you aren’t as intrigued and challenged as I am.
