After years of not pursuing my interest in photography, the age of digital photography got me excited about the hobby again. Besides enjoying photography I'm also an artist. I work in colored pencil and have a few pieces I'd like to try to sell prints of at some point. I have a few of my pieces on my website at www.thephotoartloft.com. NEW! I have just completed putting together a "tutorial" about drawing in colored pencil. I have added it as a gallery on my website. I've thought about turning it into a blog or even selling it as a digital download. But for now, it's just a gallery under the "My Artwork" section. The entire tutorial of over 50 files is there for anyone to view who may be interested in drawing. Love old movies, especially the "film noir" genre. . .Hitchcock, Michael Curtiz, John Huston, Billy Wilder and Jacques Tourneur are among my favorite directors from the past. Love the freedom to experiment that digital gives me, and love the idea of Flickr. Looking forward to making new "photography" friends around the world. UPDATE: Or in my world as a TV Director I should say "BREAKING NEWS". . .After 40 years in television I finally retired in 2016. . .This has given me more time to devote to my photographic interests.

For the last 35 years of my career I directed the Eyewitness News shows at KWCH-TV in Wichita. . .At the same time I also directed newscasts for the CW channel, which were also produced live at the KWCH studios. . .And for the last 5 years of my career I directed the only Spanish-language newscasts in the area for the Univision channel. . .We produced those shows at the KWCH studios as well, and I directed those newscasts along with the CW shows and the KWCH shows on a daily basis. . .I have to say, I won't miss directing 6 and sometimes 7 newscasts a day, but I do miss the talented, fun, and very cool people I worked with at KWCH-TV. . .
