Born on the 1st day of the year, back in '71 in a small Newfoundland city of Corner Brook (West Coast - Best Coast!). Living in Stratford, ON since September 2000.

Earliest camera memories (but not taking pictures yet) - Kodak 110 cameras / flash cubes / Polaroids. Started on something low end, and cheap (remember ClubZ at Zellers - I got a small Kodak p/s camera); mail-order developing that kept me going. Best purchase - early 90's - Pentax K1000 (thanks to lay-a-way plans at a local camera shop at the time). Film developing through the mail (ScotFoto) and 1-hr developing was coming up. Eased off film photography for a while. Then the digital photography age was becoming more accessible.

The cycle begins again. Low end, cheap stuff in my formative years (with decent knowledge of film). Cell phone cameras. Inexpensive digital cameras.

Now my new "love" - the Ricoh-Pentax K-S2.

Generally, I don't usually use filters and other enhancements - it wasn't on the K1000. Occasionally, for effect, I will choose something. Maybe some brightening. Crop/reduce size from 20 MP. Post the nice stuff. Consider photo contests...

Addendum: (7-13-18) It is interesting to see the different types of digital cameras I've used. The Fujifilm with an xD card (whoa). Google the Polaroid "t737" - what happened to that one, did I throw it out, I don't recall? I can't see my K-S2 being put out of service anytime soon.

(6-23-19) Just ordered a Panasonic Lumix G7. 14-42 and 45-150 kit lenses. Let's mix in some Micro Four Thirds, mirrorless action to my photography skills.

(7-2-19) The G7 arrived today!

(11-16-19) Purchased a used 100-300 mm Lumix G lens (first gen) for the Panasonic at Henry's in Toronto.

(01-06-20) Purchased a 7artisans 25 mm f1.8 MFT lens.

(08-19-20) placed an order for the newest Laowa - 50mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO MFT.

(09-18-20) 50 mm arrived.
