CARNIVAL OF LIGHT's flickr score: 1966

Shooting solid digital for about 3 years now & working towards doing something with the thousands & thousands of images that I have shot since then. I do not use PHOTOSHOP & it's not because I have anything against it at all!! (I plan on learning it soon) My goal is to try and present the picture as close to the way I envisioned it before I snapped it. I do some contrast adjustments and every once in a BLUE moon,...some minimal cropping when called for.(almost never)

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT IF YOU LIKE THE PICTURES...I'm trying to find out what all you great photographers think of the work so far.

GEAR -

~My solid standby for everyday carry and some great close-up action is the SONY CYBERSHOT DSP-D71. (Since died a terrible death)

~Replaced the DSP-71 with a tiny & very sexy DSC-W90

~The big & heavy NIKON D70s and a sweet MACRO lens.

~I was given a HOLGA a while back and am dying to start using that also....someday.

NOTE: Please DO NOT add me as a contact unless you plan on visiting my photostream and being a part of the overall FLICKR process. If you are adding me to have 3,000 PLUS contacts in your evil empire then go join MYSPACE.

Wow, what can I say, neighbor? We are like ships passing in the night, living in the same town and documenting the things that we see. If you haven't shot it, I most likely have, and vice-versa. Wow, what can I say, neighbor? We are like ships passing in the night, living in the same town and documenting the things that we see. If you haven't shot it, I most likely have, and vice-versa. I see most of the subjects you shoot firsthand so I have an extra appreciation for the way that you present them to the greater world. I've oft passed up shooting something, not knowing what the hell to do with it, only to see it in your old or new photographs, shining in glory. You have a keen eye and a uniquely uncommon sense of perspective--one not shared by many, but certainly appreciated by all.

Eric says:

He brings undetected colors, textures, and patterns out in subjects that most take for granted. His fondness for drains, doors, or anything ordinary reminds you to look around more often for the simplistic beauty and to look closer when you find it.

Carnival of Light views a world that few people see. Patterns, lines colours, shadows all dominate and he makes others wonder how they could miss seeing these things too! But seeing and capturing are what he does well and we are all able to benefit from his view! Thanks for sharing this amazing world!

One thing I've noticed about Carnival's work is that while there is often lots of pattern and texture, his compositions are bold and purposeful - resulting in photographs that are always a pleasure to view, never 'busy'. That they are unedited adds to my amazement of his excellent use of light and colour. I'm always pl… Read more

These are careful captures of everyday objects which would otherwise go overlooked by the casual passerby. It takes a skilled eye to see things in a way that they are seen here. This is a collection of; not "ordinary art", but rather "art of the ordinary". www/bryanstupar.blogspot.com
