I've been interested in photography since I was young. I started in photography with film before digital came in to world of photography. Unlike some people who moved on to digital and never look back. I still have soft spot in my heart for old fashion film photography, especially B&W. I still love the look of films. Also I have the love of old cameras for their feels, looks and their mechanical beauty. I still do my own B&W film processing but no longer print them, but yet I still have my enlarger, darkroom equipment and etc... maybe someday I'll get it set up and make prints again.

Yes, I do have digital cameras if you're wonder about it. I have nothing against digital photography. It got it's place and I do use it when I see it fit.

If you ask me why I take picture, all I can say is that I like what I see and I've got a camera with me. Photography is one of human's greatest invention. To be able to record what you see in a spit second and share them to others.

As for photographs. A great picture doesn't have to be technically perfect (e.g. sharpest, finest grain/no noise and etc) What I look for in a picture is, first how it makes me feel, the emotional side of it and artistically side of it. I also like to keep my digital processing to minimal. I like to use photo editing program as I would with traditional wet darkroom and this apply to both of my film works and digital works.

I'm currently in NYC, a great city with good and bad sides of what big city has to offer. I have to say it is a concrete jungle with lots to see and experience. Not to mention great museums like the Met and MoMA with great photography collections and exhibitions. And another thing is that it is still easy to buy films, B&W chemicals and get my color films processed locally.

Anyway, that's my little story. Now which camera and film should I take out for a walk this time? If you are in NYC and want to chat or meet up for some photo walkabout with our cameras let me know.

You are welcome to contact me if you are interested in using any of my photos.
