Second Chance Bikes is really just me out trawling the city and buying up neglected old bikes, taking them back to my house, fixing them up, and passing them on to better homes. I've got a passion for old bikes and I've long enjoyed working on them – there's nothing like the satisfaction of taking something that's been neglected and abused and turning it into something beautiful and useful and ready for decades more service. I love connecting people with great old bikes, teaching people the story behind each particular machine, helping them understand why their particular bike is special and beautiful and great.

I take great pride in my work, humble as it is, and I want to give people bikes that they can ride for years and years to come. Yes, I'm trying to make a little money out of this – mostly this is just so that I can keep doing what I love, and keep buying new (old) bikes and the things I need to make them great again. I'm not trying to get rich, I'm just trying to have a way to support what is at its core an ongoing labor of love. Second Chance Bikes is just about the bikes, and fixing them, and finding them homes.
