Photography has been my passion since childhood when I first held a Kodak film camera at the age of 6 years. I was in awe of its mechanism and mystified by the pop on old disposable flash cubes. I remember becoming so attached to the equipment that I took them into school with me only to get a stern telling off from the Headmistress! A subsequent Christmas present of the lovely little compact Olympus XA2 from my parents, which I still own, sealed the photographic deal for me. I have been in constant pursuit of the best photo since and mesmorised by other people's beautiful work. As a student in Cardiff I rented accommodation with a dear uncle, David - a semi-professional photographer whose enthusiasm for the art was boundless. Digital photography had not arrived at that stage, but instead I was treated to the delights of his Nikons, Hasselblads, Rolleiflexes, and his treasured Leica M6 that he gifted me. I have been blessed and privileged to be able to use it for many years and to own many other film cameras in my time. I also enjoy digital cameras, but it is really old film cameras - using and restoring them to a basic level - that makes my heart race with joy. I particularly enjoy the experience of the Fujifilm mirrorless cameras, even more so when I combine them with older legacy or vintage lenses. This fusion of old and new works well for me and maintains my interest. I am fortunate enough to have a lovely family that have become used to acting as my regular models and who patiently tolerate my incessant photography chat. I hope that you will enjoy viewing my pictures (film and digital) as much as I love seeing yours.
