Fariha is my Brush name. It stems from a dancing past. I just carried it over. I have dabbled in art from childhood. Only in the past 15 years have I gotten this serious. I attended many workshops by well known artists, taking away from each different styles and techniques. I prefer to make my paintings look realistic rather than Impressionistic. I have done Pencil, Pen and Ink, Pen and Ink with a watercolor wash, Watercolor, Oil, and Pastel. My hubby, Bill, has photographed all of my works, so I have lots to share. It will take some time to pick and choose which ones to post first. Of course Bill is posting some of them also.
I am out taking pics in the local area. Between us we are posting my art, but trying not to post the same pieces. In as much as I teach painting, I can look around right now and can find four or five works in progress.
A few people have asked about my art education. I got serious about painting when we moved up here. A local art school that taught painting in different mediums interested me so I joined. Classes in Oil, watercolor and pastel were offered. She attended many of these classes. Bev Birdwell ran the school. In addition, many guest artists were brought in to teach workshops. Below is a list of some of the artists who's workshops I attended:
Buck Paulson
David Kitler
Mark Larson
Joy Wilson
Hulan Fleming
Robert and Sharon Long
Robert Warren
Valerie Stewart
Gary and Kathwren Jenkins
Susan Jenkins
Judy Sleight
The late Dale Gherman
