I have been taking photos since my early teens (50 yrs ago) with an old plastic B&W camera and 120 film. I bought an SLR (Pentax) direct from Japan when they first came on the market and took mostly 35mm slides. Even bought bulk film and loaded my own film in rolls and developed slides (Ecktachrome).
Three years ago I switched to Digital (Canon 20D) and have not looked back. I enjoy sprucing up shots on Photoshop CS and creating slide shows and presentations for the Sackville Photo Club, which I joined 4 years ago, and where I am Secretary/Treasurer.
I so much enjoy the friends I've met there, and the fun we have at meetings and field trips (I try to go on most). I enjoy all aspects of photography and seeing the work of others - I like to see how others see & interpret things with their photos. It always amazes me how different people can look at the same subject and yet produce such wonderfully interesting, yet quite different shots.
I have given presentations on various aspects of photography and also am now doing watercolour painting, where I often use some of my photos as the models for my paintings.
I hope you all enjoy your photography as much as I do...all the best, Lawrence Spencer
