First off, lemme make a plug for my latest obsession, www.otr.net, with thousands of hours of old radio programs. I'll never have to watch TV again (except for Twin Peaks, Andy Griffith, and Leave It To Beaver reruns). My favorite show at the moment: Strange Doctor Weird.
Describe myself? Oh Jeez... Uhm, I'm actually not much of a photographer, in that I haven't come anywhere near mastering the craft: I bracket, I used 'Auto' mode on digital cameras because I can't figure out what all the functions are (esp. white balance. What the hell is that? As far as I can tell, it means 'Which do you want to Photoshop out, blue or yellow?'), and I can't take decent pictures of people to save my life. I hope this doesn't sound pompous, but I think of myself as more of a (an?) historian, a recorder/preserver of the remnants of stuff from the Industrial Revolution through the Sputnik ear/jet age. It probably has to do with saving things I remember from my childhood because, other than dinosaurs and the election of Barack Obama, I don't really care a monkey's butt about anything that came before or after that period. In spite of my technical limitations, I do at least want to make my subjects look good: a reaction of "I'm glad that the memory of this has been preserved" is more desirable than "Why the hell would anyone want to remember THAT boring thing?" In that respect, I guess I do OK.
Oh, and I'm a fairly nice guy, too, and I did not ignore Mike.

Dave, if it makes you feel any better, I have no idea what the hell white balance is, either.
Dave's got some of the best neon sign photographs around. His eye for the vintage goes well with the travels that he makes.
This guy used to be my neighbor. He ignored me.
