Drag to set position!
I am a visual artist working largely, but not exclusively, within the medium of photography and digital art; my practice also includes installations and paintings. My work derives from personal experiences - during the past three years I have lived and studied abroad, whilst also travelling. Currently I create art in order to deliver a message to the world about equality, fighting against racism and xenophobia.
As Herbert George Wells said ‘Our true nationality is mankind’, and we have to realise that we are one large family living in the same house called planet Earth.
The message might not be clear and readable through the whole body of my work – the viewers are given the freedom needed to interpret it as they wish; to relate themselves to the people in my photographs and relive their experiences through my work.
Through my practice I want to approach everyday people with a message which is easy enough to understand and help to them realise that we can change the world to a certain extent.
We live in a world full of hatred and hostility, we see people afraid of someone different than themselves; they judge and alienate others as if they are superior to them.
The main aim of my work is to prove to those who share my experiences that there is still time and methods to fight back and restore equality - removing all kinds of discriminations. I also aim to show those who believe that they never experienced it – someday, something might happen to them or someone close to them and still we can unite for a better world.
I believe one of the main reasons for arts existence is to restore balance within society and deliver a message for a better tomorrow.
