E Welthorpe asks that you feel free to comment and criticise at will. See if he cares.
You may also wish to visit the splendid Anti Penguin Domination League of which E Welthorpe is Presidedente. Many of his favourite imaginary friends are safely contained there, doing important work for the Anti Penguin Domination cause and luxuriating in the free* exchange of learnage which has made the League a beacon of netty peer-to-peer educationalisation resource solutions, second only to the legendary PNis. The recent spate of eating new members has now been largely quelled, so please drop in.

During the nineteen-nineties, a new epoch of human existence crept, unheralded, into our collective reality. The advent of the World Wide Web ushered in an entirely novel paradigm of engagement with the vast, undiscovered realm of our own making that is Knowledge. Bit by bit, as we stumble around this storehouse of everything ever, we find that it is populated by wonders. Sights, sounds, ideas and experiences that reach out to us across cultures and ages, challenging and nurturing our consciousness. It is into this environment of serendipitous adventure that E Welthorpe's work comes, swirling, as a whirlwind of delight. His photographs, fizzing with energy at once potential and kinetic, are as a window on a world both domestic and global in scope. We can take comfort that, as a small corner of the British Isles will be, for the foreseeable future, England, on the other side of the world the Jolly Swagman is still sat by a billabong. Deftly executed with compassion and wit, Welthorpe's pictures hold out the hope that, all things being equal, a man can still speak his truth to the world in a voice uncompromised by any concern that Americans will understand him. Look upon his works and mumble "horizon."
