Pipes are my passion. I'm an avid collector and smoker of high-grade Danish, Italian, English and American pipes, along with high grade Peterson's & older pieces from the Pre-Republic & Patent eras.

When I was growing up, most of the men in my family smoked pipes and I well remember eagerly flipping through the Tinderbox catalogs my dad received and marveling at the unique designs the Danes were creating. Many struck me as being only partially completed yet they possessed a certain mystique not found in the more traditional shapes. This was during the Danish freehand vogue of the early 1970’s that was sweeping the American pipe smoking community. I was hooked! Those catalogs were the spark that ignited my all-consuming passion for collecting and smoking these works of art.

I work as a senior systems analyst for a large research corporation in Rockville Maryland where I’ve been employed for the past 25 years. I live in a community near Annapolis with my wife Denise and our two pups; Monty, a Golden Retriever and Archie, a Labradoodle. Sadly, our other two pups Bucky and Molly crossed the rainbow bridge.

In addition to pipes I'm also a cigar, Belgian ale/imperial stout & single malt aficionado and fly fisherman. My favorite smoking buddy is Archie (soon to be accompanied by Monty once he’s a bit older) who instinctively knows it's time for a walk when he sees me filling my pipe or reaching for a cigar!

All of the pipes pictured here are from my personal collection. I currently have over 400 pipes from various makers, many of which are high-end pieces. These are a few of my more recent acquisitions.
