I am a young birder from central Virginia. In addition to birds, I am very interested in plants, especially orchids, and Odonates (Dragonflies and Damselflies). My favorite bird is the American Kestrel, and my favorite groups of birds are Ducks, Warblers and Shorebirds. I find local birding to be one of the most rewarding kinds of birding, because it allows me to develop a closer understanding of a region's birds. That said, I also love to travel throughout the state and the world. I enjoy participating in citizen science projects such as eBird and the Virginia Breeding Bird Atlas.
