"Knowledge Is Power"

This often quoted, unattributable phrase has an incredible impact upon my life. I am an active participant in life's endeavors, not a lazy, malignant growth upon the living room couch. A creative investigator, I search for (and greatly enjoy) the finest details of everything, getting down to the nitty-gritty of a subject is the way to make something come alive, to make it really hit you.

I live in West Central Florida and attend St. Petersburg College. Grades from Spring semester 2007 - Straight A's and and overall GPA of 3.54 ! A lot of time spend studying in the library for those grades, but definitely a worthwhile and strong investment for my future.

I am looking forward to sharing my exploratory wanderings with the world and finding some more here as well.

I am a person of sporatic, habitual interests. I love to go on the occasional rampage from time to time. Not necessarily murderous rampages however. Sleeping rampages (Best time: 20 Hours of continous sleep!), Reading rampages (I have read many days away when I am deeply involved in a rich story and I have been punished at school for actually reading too much) Video game rampages (Once played a brand new Xbox 360 game for 13.5 hours straight, no food or bathroom breaks)Bike riding almost anywhere around the city is very enjoyable and also a very efficient means of transportation. Much better than driving.Generally, I give great admiration to any human effort that has that certain richness, a greater depth and scope that anything around it. There a some things that hit you directly, that you instinctevly know are exceptional.

More than anything else in this world, I love the simple and profound act of reading. Its a sad fact that most college students never crack open a book outside of their classroom.Stephen King is one of the best (if not THE) authors that I have had the wondrous experience of following. Classic story after classic story pump from his mind. Its very hard to choose even a handful of the best of his short stories and novels.

To speak of another literary heavyweight contender, Anne Rice weaves a very dark and wonderfully intriguing intricate universe with her series of novels, The Vampire Chronicles. They all are very very good stories, gems in and of themselves, but, some of them tower above the rest. Specifically, the second novel "The Vampire Lestat" and the fifth novel "Memnoch The Devil". These are stories that will heavily influence your human perspective.

And a relative newcomer to the field, Eric Nylund. With his very expansive series of works, blossoming from the Halo series of Xbox games, he has achieved a daring feat. If the Halo storyline was a boat traveling simply from point A to point B, Eric Nylund's storyline would encompass the entire depths of the ocean and the miles atmosphere above and below that boat. He has added fathoms of details and layers upon layers of vision.

Currently I am about halfway through reading Frank Herbert's "Dune". There are some authors who work in our universe. There are some who twist and manipulative it to suit their needs. However, there a few authors who have the boldness to create entire universes of their own as their personal playgrounds. Frank Herbert is one of those authors. I am greatly anticipating finishing this novel and moving on the several more in the series.
