I'm a British Mum to a gorgeous little girl of 3, and I'm in my mid 30's.

I started really sewing/quilting at the start of 2011, and am developing a sense of fabrics and styles as i go, if you look at my favourites I think i'm developing a love for modern style quilting and fabrics- i'm not a big fan of old style stuffy fabrics that are too novelty led.

For swaps:

Some of the designers I like are:

Aneela Hoey

Amy Butler

Lu Summers

Riley Blake

Michael Miller

Lotta Jansdotter.

and solid fabrics are something i'm currently exploring.

and I love polka dots!

I'm not a fan of old fashioned flowers and overly busy fabrics or anything too chintzy. I don't limit myself to designers really, its more the fabrics and prints i like.

Not keen on batiks or merchandised/commercialised characters on fabric e.g disney etc, anything garish, and i'm not really in to the current neon trend (i remember having neon socks in the 80's and its not something I want to brag about!). I like some of the fun London prints around at the moment, and have been making bunting with them which has been fun.

I like a bit of whimsical fun, toadstools, and fairies (the more modern style ones like Aneela Hoey characters). though I'm a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl day to day. I also have a fabric crush on the goldfish in a bag fabric (can't remember the designer) but seems impossible to find!

I just did a pincuhion swap, so i have a lovely new pincushion, but no travel sewing kit (which might be helpful), and i love little pouches, bags and carry cases for my ever growing collection of sewing stuff!
