I first became interested in photography landscape in 2010 whilst my first DSLR camera is Canon 1000D is a birthday present from my wife. Over the next few years I continued my interest in photography landscape with my second DSLR camera which is Canon 600D and originally began by using that camera until today. I learnt photography from a mixture of reading books, magazines, FBE courses and working with other Photographers.
With my own photography I work hard on trying to get the best possible image in camera and keeping the photoshop side of things quick and simple. I use Lee filters and Hoya cpl to control exposure.
Locations obviously play an important part in landscape photography, whilst I could head back and forth across the country to all those Iconic viewpoints that every photographer seems to shoot, I personally prefer to concentrate on just a handful of areas. I feel by keep going back to an area or a place time and time again you can get a better feel for a location and those feelings can be transferred to the images that are captured. At the same time I personally have no problem shooting locations that have been shot time and time again. One of the best bits of advice I was given as a photographer whilst training was that there is no harm in shooting a location that has been shot time and time again by other photographers, as long as you aim to do it better than everyone else. The thing with mother nature is we cant control it and the best weather and light is always yet to come.
