Laid-back and analytical; a logical artist, if there is such a beast. The world to me is lines, shadows, color and contrast. Everything I see I unconsciously take note of its shape so, when/if I draw it, I'm very aware of proportions and perspective and can easily translate it from my mind onto paper.
I do have trouble completing anything. I have a lot of great, unfinished ideas.
I also love philosophy and reading and writing. When something is written well, it feels like the art of vocabulary. If you can articulate what you see and feel in words, you are creating an intangible, yet profoundly beautiful, work of art. Ideas can stir the same emotions in me that a mountain-scape or ocean-view would. If the magnetude of it can take your breath away... mmm... these things are the revelation and [re]discovery of life.
I love music. When a sound is so rich and full that it moves you to tears and your chest swells with feelings that can never be expressed in words or in art, it seems supernatural sometimes. I feel that a lot of music is a connection to the spiritual realm; kind of like some gateway or preview of what it might be like outside physical boundries.
Thank God for the five senses, and for that sixth sense that allows us to experience music and emotion. Not only do we feel through our own senses, but we can empathize with others.
Maybe that's a taste of what it must be like to be God. Even though we are not the earth, we can experience all its facets fully by taste, touch, sight, smell, hearing and emotion. So, you may not be a rock, but you can hold it and feel how cold and hard it is; lick it and taste the grain of it; see its mass; smell the earth in it...
Let's experience this world together and share those experiences through art.
I am lost in translation... of this life.
