Old and twice retired. Retired from the Navy in 80 and kinda forced in 2002. 9/11 had something to do with that. High tech and quality backround, but have played with Photography since 1982. On my second Digital camera owned, but had a DCS460 to use at my last job. I talked them into buying it. I first started photographing my Wife paintings in 2001. I have a copy stand and two strobes with polorizing material to reduce the glare, especailly from Oil. In a pinch I can set up to shoot through glass.

I finally have the wife on her own flickr account. www.flickr.com/photos/8245117@N02/ and i just bought her a camera just like mine so we are out taking pics in the local area. Between us we are posting her art, but trying not to post the same pieces. In as much as she teaches painting also, I look around right now and can find four or five works in progress.
A few people have asked about the artists education. She got serious about painting when we moved up here. A local art school that taught painting in different mediums was joined. Classes in Oil, watercolor and pastel were offered. She attended many of these classes. Bev Birdwell ran the school. In addition, many guest artists were brought in to teach workshops. Below is a list of some of the artists that she attended.
Buck Paulson
David Kitler
Mark Larson
Joy Wilson
Hulan Fleming
Robert and Sharon Long
Robert Warren
Valerie Stewart
Gary and Kathwren Jenkins
Susan Jenkins
Judy Sleight
The late Dale Gherman

This painting Titled :( the Light at the old cape cad ) farm2.static.flic... is Dedicated to my Friend Bill because of all of the help he went out of his way to provide me, First of all when I first became a member He was the first to complement my paintings & for quite a while kept on complimenting them & not just because he liked them but also, until others started noticing my work so I wouldn't feel left out He has saved me the embarrassment of my miss spelt words, on a couple photos I posted on Flickr he has also been the First to invite me to a Group to get me motivated, & to meet people I certainly didn't feel like I was at my first day at School.....you know what they feel like. Although I met allot of nice people here that became friends, He is a true friend & Kind to his fellow man He is also one of the Best Photographers here & his wife one of the best artists Sue ,
