If you go to the first picture in the photostream, it will explain a lot. This photostream started as a way of sharing pictures with family from our European Vacation in 2007. It quickly grew into much more. I have become fascinated with the talent that is around me. (Yes there is LOTS of drivel on Flickr.) But I am overwhelmed by the great content here. I love that there is so many ways to look at the world we live in. A quick trip though my contacts work will show this. There are people here who have framings, EVs and color manipulations that I would never think of. It is quite an experience to see the world through their eyes/lens.
My photography started in the late 80's and my tools grew into a collection of older (mostly) Nikon and Pentax equipment. While I have a lot of that around still, I grew tired of packing everything around. In the aughts I grew towards digital, begrudgingly, as a necessary evil for web pages and eBay adds. Before embarking on the Europe trip I did a lot of research on digital cameras and picked out a small Panasonic. I could not find one to buy however. The first store we went into in Frankfurt had one, and Donna bought it for me. That camera reignited my flame for photography. It had so many advantages over the digitals I had been using. And it changed how I looked at photography, and the world. I became firmly entrenched in the digital world.
Then, this year (2009) an unfortunate thing happened. While looking for a monopod head in Prague/Praha, we took a wrong turn and went into a vintage camera shop. I purchased a swing lens Horizon 202 panorama camera. Film. I have been having quite a bit of fun with it. (I will take anyone's hints at film scanning.)
While the photostream started out just for the forementioned vacation shots it has become much more. Some of my family members and I can see what each other is up to from the uploads. I did a mangled attempt at a 365. A lot of photostreams have one very nice shot posted every once in a while. This is not that photostream. While I have some shots that I am quite proud of, I also post lots of shots of everyday goings on, weather, and what I consider to be humor, and sometimes a good dash of blogging.
I hope you see something here that has something to say to you.

Jack bought me my first real camera, a vintage Argus viewfinder. And he with David has been my primary photography inspiration. What a great big brother!
