Mission
The common commitment and purpose of the Washington Indian Gaming Association (WIGA) is to advance the lives of Indian peoples economically, socially and politically.
Description
Washington's 29 federally-recognized tribes are investing in projects to create jobs in their communities, to restore and protect natural resources, to provide better health care, and to improve public safety.
General Information
Washingtontribes.org is a public education program sponsored by the Washington Indian Gaming Association. As a trade association, a primary purpose of WIGA is to educate and disseminate information to the Indian gaming community, federal and state governments, and the general public on issues related to gaming in Indian Country.
To achieve those purposes, WIGA maintains offices and full-time staff in the state capitol of Olympia; organizes conferences, projects and programs; consults with and disseminates information to tribal governments, the media, and the general public; and serves as an advocate for Indian gaming before state, local and federal government bodies and agencies.
