I am a retired Professor of Modern History and until I retired I researched the long term effects of children in war zones. I still advise various NGOs on how best to support migrant and war children.

I have been a keen photographer since I was a child and I now use it, as well as my glass art, as an antidote to the emotional pressures of my work. As far as photography is concerned I have eclectic interests, but if asked I would say that B/W is my favourite. I have used Nikon cameras for a very long time and attended workshops at the Nikon school in London to learn how to get the most out of my latest. Well worth doing but still a lot to learn. I have recently purchased a Sony RX10mk IV bridge camera as a lighter alternative to the D800 but I still use the latter .

Testimonials

Martin has had a keen interest in photography for many years. During that time his skills have developed and his style has evolved. I'm very impressed with his latest black and white images that have a very distinctive look. He creates rather ethereal and mysterious views on everyday scenes. Fantastic!
