We're told repeatedly how divided America is and we feel that part of this civic problem is the lack of strangers just sitting down & getting to know one another. We want to change this - or at least challenge it in our own small way by taking strangers out to breakfast across America. This July we plan to purchase a van and drive from Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine. On our way we will take strangers to breakfast. We want to share local diner fare and find out what they think about both the big and little questions of life. In support of these conversations we will create a blog (so the strangers we met can meet the other strangers we met) and then eventually create a book: “Breakfast with Strangers: : 50 Meals Across America”.
