Mohammad Shahnewaz Khan

The son of a freedom fighter; born in 1984, lives in Chittagong. Mohammad Shahnewaz Khan" is a Humanist Documentary Photographer, Curator, Educator, works as a freelance photojournalist, who also sees himself as a social activist. He is the Founder Director of the VOHH Photography Institute, VOHH Foundation and the VOHH FOTO FEST. Khan has won more than 120 international awards in the field of photojournalism and Documentary photography; his photo series have been featured in print media and TV shows worldwide and have been exhibited in 50 countries; his long term projects have also been the subject of teaching, lectures and research in many Universities and Organizations in The US and Europe (www.vohh.org/founder-director/)
Having dreamed in his youth of becoming a writer, photography instead managed to became his muse and mode of expression.
In his words:
"I always want to know about people, their life, their culture and their fight to survive. I believe photography is such a great option for telling the truth to change the world."
He won over 120 International awards in the field of photojournalism and documentary photography, Including Ian Parry Scholarship, Alexia Grant, Andrei Stenin Press Award (Twice), International Photographer of the Year Award, Life Press Photo Award (Twice), Siena International Photo Awards, Photoshare award (Twice), Al Mayadeen TV award, Professional shortlisted at Sony World Photography Awards, Felix-schoeller-photoaward, Shortlisted Lucie Foundation Emerging Scholarship, “Future Voices Jury Winner” by Eye Time, . Nominated - World Press Photo Joop Swart masterclass (Three times) and UNICEF photo of the year (Three times), Magnum EF Grant.
His works published over 150 International journals like: Washington Post, CNN, Sunday Times, Amnesty International, The Guardian, National Geography, Al Jazeera, Sputnik, FotoEvidence, British Journal of Photography, L'Oeil de la Photographie, TIME, Público, Fair Observer, EyesOpen, EBS, UNDP, Smithsonian Magazine, WHAT Magazine, The Quiet American, ViewFind, Resource Magazine, Dhaka Tribune, PHmuseum, RT, Al Mayadeen TV, Phosmag Magazine, Lensculture, Lucie Foundation, Daily Star, Daily Sun, Dhaka Tribune, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), GMX Magazine, FAZ.NET NEWSPAPER etc.

His assignment experience includes: World Bank-IFC, CNN, Sputnik News, Al Mayadeen Tv, Alexia Foundation, P3, Rossiya Segodnya and many National-International NGOs and Magazines.
His works exhibited over 50 countries, over 500 times.
