Running for the BC NDP in the Chilliwack-Hope By-Election.
For years, Gwen O'Mahony has made her living looking out for people's well-being. She has specialized training in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Pre-Med, and currently works as a health advocate at a home for adults with developmental disabilities: managing budgets, training, and policy development for organizations.
Gwen's past experience in the private sector has helped her understand the many... challenges facing small and medium-sized businesses. She's also Past President of the Abbotsford Rotaract, a college and career extension of the Rotary, and has dedicated extensive time on community environmental issues.
Over the past few years Gwen has knocked on thousands of doors around Chilliwack-Hope, attending public meetings and supporting individuals who request her assistance.
"I've been knocking on doors and I'm hearing from so many people telling me they're worried about overcrowding and waits in our hospitals, extreme delays in our court system, cuts to our provincial park services, and attacks on the dignity and well-being of seniors needing care," said O'Mahony, "They're tired of a Liberal government that doesn't listen to British Columbians."
Gwen lives in Chilliwack with her two nieces.
