My father gave me a second hand instamatic when I was seven. Since then I have been trying to capture moments out of time with a camera.

I am a full time biologist, part time photographer. Since cameras are able to freeze time, most of the things I try to capture are those that fly by very fast. This includes bird and insects - often in flight - and the childhood of my three children.

I free lance when opportunity arises. Most of my jobs are magazine and book illustrations, but I do occasional event photos, group photos, portraits, and even product photography. Partly to learn from the challenges, and partly to pay for my gear!
