My interest in railways and photography stretches back to childhood with my father and grandfather both keen photographers.

After a few years off I regained my interest in Railway photography in the early 2000's with the advances being made in digital cameras at that time. Having moved from point and click cameras back to SLR's (having to relearn many of the skills and techniques that I'd forgotten from film days) I decided to start uploading to Flickr in 2012. Since then it has been a pleasure to see the photographic efforts of others on Flickr and learn from them. I'm very pleased to have joined a group of keen Flickr photographers and friends on a number of expeditions around the UK taking railway photographs. The efforts of which are recorded in the '1Z10' Flickr groups.
