Nothing special about me to write about. My kids and their friends call me Chuck . When I was younger some thought I looked a lot like Chuck Norris, although I didn't see it, but it was fun to watch expressions when I walked by those who did.
The years have passed quickly. I retired in Sept '07 from a local powerstation where I was a Stationary Engineer with 32 years service. It hasn't been hard to adjust myself away from that; the years of shift work with the constant body shock were not always kind. I missed a lot of my (3) children's growing up because of it and had grown distant from family and friends, but understand that I am not complaining. I am very lucky and eternally grateful for surviving it with their patience and help. Our faith in God has given us a great deal so far. Without His blessings I could never have accomplished it. At this point in our lives, life has just begun.
I am not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination. Owning a camera does not qualify me for that, but I am learning, and love to venture out and see what I can find and record. I've sat for hours and looked through thousands of the photos of those with obvious artistic talent that presents itself in their photographs. I know that my eyes see differently than others so my attempts will be from pure fascination and hope.
Thanks to everyone for your kindness and generosity. I was born with fairly broad shoulders and take critism very well, but like learning to speak in Swahili, I will do all I can to learn, but it may take time.
Hope you enjoy
