Retired from 49 years of long service with G.P.O / Royal Mail . January 1953 to June 2002. Joined at Grays Essex Head Post Office. Served as a telegram messenger there from January 1953, & transferred to Reading Berks Head Post Office in 1955. Called up to serve for 2 years compulsory National Service in the R.A.O.C. from 5th January 1956 to January 1958. Returned to Reading Head Post Office to now work as a postman until June 2002. Served a rural community of areas of Sonning Common, Dunsden, & Playhatch in Oxfordshire, from September 1962 until Retirement in June 2002.
