The Swarthmore Co-op is a uniquely Swarthmore, PA institution and an anchor of the Swarthmore Town Center. Created by Swarthmore residents 74 years ago, it is the third oldest food cooperative in the nation and is owned by its more than 1,100 members.

Anyone can shop at the Co-op, members and nonmembers alike. The Co-op encourages and promotes local products and sustainable living, and was named 2011 Best Local Produce by Main Line Today. The Swarthmore Co-op will celebrate its 75th anniversary in October 2012.
