My name is Cesar Lujan. In my images I often cast the architecture as the lead character, with the inhabitants of the space in mere supporting roles. It’s the architecture that dictates the mood. Perspective demonstrates the sheer power of a form and how it influences an experience. A triangular ceiling dwarfs its observers below -- the viewers become an exhibit of the museum. I’m drawn to the way shadows dance with light, how shapes battle size, and what is there and what is void. I try to capture simplicity through light and shadow, geometry and perspective, scale and composition.

Sometimes I feel that it takes looking sideways to gain a different and/or an interesting perspective of the everyday that is in front of us.

With the few pieces of equipment that I own, I consider myself very fortunate to have the opportunity to express my view of life as I see it through my viewfinder. I take photographs out of passion and to maintain a certain level of sanity. I have much respect and admiration for those who make a living shooting photographs and I gain true inspiration from their work.

My day job? Practicing architecture puts food on the table and satisfies my hunger for shoes, cuisine at overly priced restaurants, metro fare, camera gear, and more shoes.es.

Thank you for your views, favs, etc. I welcome any comment and especially any critique.
